Creep rupture assessment of cyclically heated 3D pressure pipelines with volumetric defects using a direct numerical approach

Creep rupture assessment is a significant issue in the field of high-temperature structural integrity. In this paper, creep 3D pressure pipelines with volumetric defects subjected to cyclic thermo-mechanical loadings done using direct numerical approach within framework stress compensation method (SCM). For calculation limit, an extended shakedown analysis scheme yield strength correction essentially performed, where revised determined as minimum plastic and material corresponding specified elevated temperature time. This performs by given data rather than simulating degenerative process based on damage constitutive equations under loading history. The incorporated into commercial finite element software Abaqus. Parametric studies geometric dimensions part-through slot affecting limit are conducted. Numerical results shown study indicate that accurately identifies boundary pipeline, verified elastic-plastic cycle-by-cycle analysis. Failure mechanisms, such local rupture, global detected different combinations. These give helpful information for in-service integrity defective at temperature, demonstrate applicability application prospect solving questions relevant design or life other engineering structures.
